Welcome to the Cruising Section (Sail & Motor). What is the Cruising Section about? Quite simply we provide 'Cruising In Company' opportunities and/or social events throughout the year for members of GYC. Whether sailing or dining our aim is to be ‘inclusive’ and all members of the Club are welcome to join in. We have both sail and motor skippers looking for crew and crew looking for berths. If you are at all interested in 'Cruising in Company' please get in touch (click on ‘Contact’ above for details).
The Cruising Programme for 2012 is: MARCH

Mon 27 Return
Notes: 1. May BH Weekend/Lib Day - Cherbourg
Initially departing in the direction of Cherbourg on the Saturday and then assuming that the weather remains fair perhaps going around to St Vaast and maybe even further. The ‘return date’ has been left for the individual skipper to decide.
2. June Queen’s Jubilee Weekend & Week Following
Plan up for discussion at ‘Open Meeting’.
3. July/August – South Brittany Cruise
A 3 week cruise or even longer.
Like all plans the above may change and additional weekends may also be added depending on demand so please keep checking the Cruising Calendar for updates. If there is the demand there will be a meeting on the evening before departure in the Clubhouse at 2100hrs for those that wish to attend to discuss the weather, departure time, and, if necessary, an alternative destination. As well as the formal programme there is likely to be some less organised 'Cruising in Company'. The basic idea is that if you find yourself going away and would like some company then drop us an email with details and we will circulate it to the rest of the Cruising Section. If you would like to be included in the Cruising mailing list please let us have your email address.
