Pirates Sailing – for younger sailors.
Pirates is a ‘club within a club’ based at the Guernsey Yacht Club open to children aged 6 to 8 years old and aims to provide the opportunity for younger sailors to have the experience of learning to handle a small sailing boat in the safe confines of the Model Boat pond. Sailing is an activity for boys and girls.
Pirates is not a sailing school but uses “Oppie” boats loaned by the Guernsey Sailing Trust to get the children sailing under close supervision by Guernsey Yacht Club sailing coaches. Pirates sailors are mostly too young to attend Guernsey Sailing Trust and Guernsey Yacht Club courses.
Pirates takes place on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings during the summer and autumn terms.
