This year’s Championship Weekend was held over the second weekend of July in mixed conditions with lighter winds on Friday and Sunday while Saturday gave the competitors winds up to 20 knots to contend with. The Guernsey team with captain Dave Aslett and Darragh Lee in the Standard and Andy Bridgman and Johanna Asplund in the Radial arrived as planned in the Isle of Wight on Friday evening.  

Strong winds on Saturday led the organisers to cancel the practice race leaving the sailors with plenty of time to sort out boats, equipment and handle other practicalities.

Blenheim Weekend Series offers tricky Start PDF Print E-mail
The first race in the Blenheim weekend series for dinghies started in excellent but tricky sailing conditions. The wind was a westerly force 4 with stronger gusts and big shifts in direction as the wind was deflected by the St Peter Port landscape. 13 dinghies competed and a course was set from the GYC castle line.
