TThe GYC welcomes new members who have an interest in boating. Recently we have seen a significant increase in the number of new members with currently the total membership exceeding 1800 reflecting the wide range of activities that the club offers as well as the excellent facilities.
Membership Application Procedure
- Membership Applications should be completed on the appropriate form which is available at the Club or can be downloaded.
- Candidates for membership must be proposed and seconded by Members to whom they are personally known. Both the proposer and seconder must have been Members of the Club for at least two years.
- The proposer or seconder must introduce the applicant (except junior applicants) to two members of the Club committee who must initial the application form.
- All completed application forms to be signed by the proposer and seconder and be handed to the Secretary together with the appropriate entry fee.
- Proposal forms shall be displayed in the Club premises for not less than two weeks during which time any Member shall be entitled to make representations to the Committee in writing, through the Secretary.
- A person whose application has been received by the Secretary, may use the facilities of the Club as a Temporary Member until the Secretary informs him that his application has been approved or refused by the Club Committee.
- Overseas members – must spend less than of 4 months in Guernsey per annum.
- Senior members must be over 65 before the 1 January.
- Junior members must be under 18 before the 1 January.
